ABOUT
TRUSTED FREE LOCAL CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
ORIGINS |
|
Barnabas began out of a burden to see Christians in the Bluewater further equipped for the work of the ministry. We knew that not everyone could afford or take the time for Bible College or Seminary and that local churches resources would be best served working together to offer Christian education at a level above what might be accessible in a local congregation. TEAMS in the United Kingdom inspired us as a local association of Baptist churches to do something similar in the Bluewater (Grey-Bruce).
PHILOSOPHY |
|
The Great Commission clearly mandates teaching as the means to grow disciples. Like our stated verse we believe doctrine is good and that being trained in the Faith will equip our churches with good servants who will be better equipped to disciple others (c.f. 2 Ti 2:2).
CORE VALUES |
|
Bible: All of our modules will centre around (e.g. biblical theology and counselling) or flow from (e.g. church history) the Bible and a biblical worldview.
Local Church: This ministry is hosted by local churches for the local church.
Discipleship: Jesus’ call is to grow disciples through faithful teaching.
Doctrine: Doctrine is beautiful and training in doctrine makes good disciples.
Fellowship: Meeting other believers from the Bluewater, learning and growing together is a priority.
Equipping: All good teaching helps us to practically fulfil the Great Commission.
Encouraging: The spirit of encouraging believers in their discipleship.
